I can’t recommend Progress Teachers enough. They are incredibly professional and always treat you as an individual
It’s the little touches that really make a difference such as remembering my father’s birthday and my own. They genuinely make you feel cared for and valued as a person rather than just another client.
I’ve had some wonderful interactions with both Helen and Connor and I’ve always found them to be friendly and supportive- and very approachable. You can give honest feedback regarding any placement which is wonderful
The schools they have placed me in have all been outstanding and welcoming places to work while I continue to find my perfect role.
I love the idea of trial days as they give both the school and yourself the opportunity to see if it’s the right fit. I feel it’s like a two way interview and has made the whole process more positive. Gilly

Helen has been an absolute pleasure to work with through the agency. From the very beginning, she was friendly, professional, and genuinely supportive in helping me secure a role in a primary school that suited my experience and preferences. She kept me well informed throughout the process, communicated clearly, and was always quick to respond to any questions I had. Her encouragement and efficiency made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Helen at Progress Teachers for the opportunity she gave me. Thanks to her support, I was placed in a role that has genuinely become the most rewarding job I have had.
From the very beginning, Helen was incredibly understanding and supportive. I had explained that I had not worked in education for over 10 years and had never worked in a mainstream school before, but she reassured me and showed real confidence in me. She has kept in regular contact throughout, always available when needed, and has been consistently helpful, approachable, and encouraging.
Although this was a completely new environment for me, I was made to feel welcome straight away. The school has a real sense of community, and the staff are friendly, supportive, and always willing to help.
The leadership within the school is outstanding. The headteacher creates a calm, positive atmosphere and is always on hand to offer support and guidance, especially when dealing with more challenging situations. This has made a huge difference to both my confidence and my growth in the role.
I am truly grateful to Helen for connecting me with such a fantastic school, and I am so pleased to have been offered a permanent position starting in September. This opportunity has meant a great deal to me, both professionally and personally.

What an unprofessional company. I applied for a TA roll. Within minutes of applying I received a call on my phone. All good. After a chat, I spent the morning doing some online courses sent by the agency in order to progress with the application. They took all my personal information and then called to offer me an interview which we did via video call due to the snow. Apparently I did well ( although I feel that I don’t interview well at all, some people can talk themselves into a job and are rubbish, I don’t do well but do know my subject!!) Madison told me that she was happy with my interview and asked me to start the following day as a trial, no pay, although I’m sure that got paid!!!! After a lovely day at the school with compliments from the class teacher I was told at 8:30 pm that the school said I was lovely but didn’t think the job was for me… fair enough but wasn’t the feeling that I was given when I finished my first day. I did not sit around but was extremely productive and supportive of the pupils throughout the day. Fast forward to this evening, I have been promised a callback for feedback but have received nothing even after lots attempts to get through to Madison who has been ignoring me all day. Spoke to another colleague ( I think Dennis) who promised me a callback back this afternoon. I am still waiting ( 7:15pm). This company in my opinion are a disgrace and I would act with great caution.
After waiting for the promised call back, I received a text the following morning asking if Madison can call me around 9:45am which I confirmed. No call back. The following day I received a text with a message saying how busy she was and would call me back asap. This was last Friday. I then received my time sheet and thought perhaps I’ll get paid for my time. Fast forward to Tuesday 9 pm. No call back and no pay!!!! They have used me as an extra pair of hands as the school in question were awaiting OFSTED to inspect. Very unprofessional and dishonest behaviour. Be very wary if looking for a professional company as it’s not what you will get!!

Does not even get a one star, I was given an opportunity at one the schools. Unfortunately the staff at that school were unwelcoming really rude. I called them saying I won’t be going back. Voice mail is always full. When I get someone to answer they will say they will call me back. Which then never do. I must have called multiple times but never a response back. This has made me feel they just give you any random place to work in. I was never contacted about my experience at the school which had led me to question this Agency their lack of understanding of peoples wellbeing which every poor and very concerning. So I would say avoid this agency. For the agency I know you’ll read this. You have you chance to get in contact with me but you have not.

I had a bit of a tricky experience at first with this agency, however I was then offered another role by a different person (same agency), and she really went above and beyond to fit me with my perfect role! I have been at the same school for a full term, and about to continue there for the next term. I love the school I have been placed with, and my role is just what I was looking for.
Helen, at Progress Teachers, has been so supportive, and has kept in touch to check in and see how things are going, if I'm still happy, etc, and also has regular communication with the school. I would definitely stick with this agency for any future placements if I needed to.

Over the past year, I have been employed by Progress Teacher and would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ryan Edwards. As a Senior Recruitment Consultant, under his guidance and mentorship, I was consistently challenged to develop new long-term supply placements. Entering the education sector with limited experience was daunting, but Ryan provided unwavering support throughout my journey. The Agency places a strong emphasis on its candidates, offering a supportive and secure environment for their professional and personal growth. Through assisting me in honing my existing skills and acquiring new ones, I had the opportunity to enrol in a teacher training course. Once again, thank you to Progress Teachers for your invaluable assistance! 😄

I have been working with Progress Teachers for some time now, and my experience has been incredibly positive. They have consistently provided me with the most work compared to other agencies, which has helped me maintain a steady and fulfilling role within schools.
Their communication has always been prompt, clear, and supportive. Whether it was about daily placements or longer-term assignments, they kept me informed and well-prepared. I’ve particularly appreciated the practical advice and suggestions they’ve shared along the way — their guidance has been both professional and genuinely helpful in supporting my development as an educator.
One of my key placements was at Horninglow Primary School in Burton, where I worked through Progress. It was a rewarding experience, and the support I received from the agency played a major role in making it a success.
I would highly recommend Progress Teachers to anyone looking for reliable and supportive agency work in education.

Bunch of Scammers. Signed me up, made me work in Birmingham School for free. The kids loved me + saw me as a good role model. The lady i spoke to in birmingham Samantha Upton rude when on the phone. Hasnt phoned me in 4 months since i signed up. So wasted my valuable time on getting all the references and getting registered. No work, no communication and rude staff. AVOID THIS TEACHING AGENCY. SEND YOU TO TRIAL DAYS WITH NO PAY WHEN OTHER TEACHING AGENCIES PAY YOU FOR TRIAL DAYS + pay MORE FOR A DAY RATE FOR TAS AND TEACHERS.

Beware! Utterly Disappointing and Deceptive Agency.
All the 5 star reviews on their Google page are better & fake. They only have 2 real view on indeed.com & company size is 8 peopl3 so relatively small.
I've encountered numerous teaching agencies in my career, but none have been as unprofessional and deceitful as this one. Here’s my experience, which I hope will save you from the same ordeal:
From the start, they bombarded me with calls, insisting on work references, chasing my past employers, and even making me do a video interview. They dangled the promise of numerous full-time opportunities in front of me, but it was all smoke and mirrors. Once I signed up, their true colors showed:
Uncompensated Work: They made me work a full day trial shift at a school in Birmingham for free. This is unheard of; every other reputable agency I've worked with compensates for trial shifts.
Exploitation for Quotas: It became clear that this agency was just trying to meet some internal quotas or fill their database with names. They weren't interested in genuine employment opportunities for their candidates.
Lack of Support: During the trial, I managed well despite one overly micromanaging TA. I engaged positively with the students, doing both one-to-one and small group sessions. However, after the trial, the agency's consultant called once only to ask how it went, then ghosted me completely. No feedback, no follow-up calls, nothing.
Unprofessional Communication: The complete lack of communication post-trial was not only rude but also highly unprofessional. You expect at least some feedback or closure, especially after dedicating your time and effort.
New and Unconnected: This agency seems to be relatively new, with very few school connections, which explains why they're so desperate to have people work for free under the guise of 'trials.' They clearly do not have the network or reputation to offer legitimate jobs.
My Advice:
Steer clear of this agency. They are not here to support your career but rather to exploit your need for work. If you're looking for teaching or assistant positions in the West Midlands, I would recommend agencies like Zen Education or Teaching Personnel. They have a solid reputation, a broad network of schools, and they treat their candidates with respect and professionalism.
Conclusion: This agency is not worth your time or effort. Protect your career and your dignity by choosing an agency that values you as much as you value education.

My journey started by applying on indeed and within half a day I received a call from the company telling me about a job opportunity working as a teaching assistant in a SEN secondary school. I then jumped onto a quick video call with the loveliest person called Madison, she asked me about my interests, my previous work experience and what skills I have, and if I would be interested in working within a SEN school. She was extremely down to earth and it was like a genuine conversation. For the past 3 months I have been working at the school and Madison has been extremely supportive throughout my experience and boosted my confidence on a number of occasions. I have recently been unwell and was worried about how this may affect my performance and Madison was able to be understanding and provided me reassurance. They are fantastic at supporting people that may have not necessarily came from having experience but focus on the personal skills that you already have and build from there. I am extremely grateful for their support!

I recently joined Progress Teachers and completed all the necessary compliance checks. I was expecting to be contacted for assignments, but I didn't hear from them. When I called, I was informed that the consultant I had been dealing with had left, and I was assured a call back in five minutes. That call never came, and it has now been over a month. Madison has gone above and beyond to secure my new work position. The general approach at this company seems to be thorough and swift. The consultant is always a phone call away, (even out of hours!) which stands her apart from all the other recruiters and agencies. Madison provided that personal touch right from the start and continues to maintain contact.

Working for Progress Teachers has been a rewarding experience. Their commitment to professional support and responsive communication sets them apart from other teaching agencies. I would highly recommend Progres Teachers to any educator looking for a supportive and flexible agency to work with. Thanks to Shauna for being very helpful and responsive, every time I needed some sort of assistance or having answered a general query of mine.

Fantastic staff and huge thank you to Shauna, who got me working in local school in 3 days from my initial contact and application. She listened and worked with me to get me in as soon as possible but also for the right vacancy. She showed great professionalism and care and I am really happy I am able to work with her and the whole team. Highly recommend and hope for long term professional relationship.

During the last few months, I have been working with a number of agencies. Out of all, Progress Teachers and Hope Kennelly in particular has been very helpful. As her name says, she has a positive perspective to life and goes out of her way to assist you with your needs. She listens patiently and does everything to help you get what you want. Many thanks for Progress Teachers and many thanks to you, Hope.

Only been with Progress Teachers a short while as a Teaching Assistant. Ryan found me a position at one school but this feel through as they were unable to give me start date. The next day Ryan found me a position at a school in Lichfield where I’ve been working at since the start of April.
I’ve had loads of support and with regular phone calls from Ryan, which made a change from other agencies I have worked at over the years. Any issues have been dealt with quickly.
Great company to work for.
Thank you.

Progress Teachers have by far been one of the most hands on agencies I’ve experienced throughout my teaching experience. They’re consistent, ensure that you’re comfortable at all times and they also check in daily to make sure you are happy with your allocation. Most definitely would recommend to all.

So happy to be working with Progress Teachers! As my first time working on supply, I was unsure of what to expect. However, Matt and Leigha have both been fantastic in helping me find a long-term placement at a primary school I love. They have both been very supportive, always checking in to see how I am getting on. If I could give 10 stars I would!

Progress Teachers is one of the best agencies to work for 🙂 They have matched me to the right school first time around which I am very impressed by. I liked how they offered a trial day to see if you are a good fit for the school which a lot of other agencies don't offer. I'm pleased to say that I managed to get the role because of the tremendous support, encouragement and helpfulness of both Leigha and Matt. Both are brilliant in their roles of helping me to settle into the school I am currently working at and I can see now they genuinely want to help young people like me to find work as that's been a challenge for me last year. I had very little experience working in a school before joining Progress as I've only just started my career in education, but they still considered me for the role and even offered me a lot more work than my previous one that I no longer work at anymore. I'm very thankful for this and for coming across Progress Teachers. It has been one of the best things to have happened to me in my whole career so far and I really like the school I am currently working in too 🙂 I've really settled into it and it's only been about 3 weeks so far! I'm really looking forward to learning and developing more self-confidence, skills and positive experiences as my time here develops. I have no doubt that Progress Teachers can absolutely help me reach my full potential and help me to make a lot of progress in my career 🙂 Many thanks, Jen.

Dilon worked so quickly and amazingly. I was with another agency who wouldn’t respond or took a while for me to get through to. I signed up with Progress teachers on a Sunday night, by the Monday morning I’d secured an interview with a school! Dilon has gone above and beyond in his role, checking in, working around my schedule. Definitely recommend!

I recommend anyone who is looking for school work, contact progress Teachers who helped me find work at a school as a temporary caretaker, the agency negotiated the best rate of pay for the role, which i could not refuse.
The agency management kept in contact throughout my time working at the school and was always there if I had any issues which was sorted out on the day.
I would recommend anyone looking for work in the education sector contact progress Teachers.

After being with my previous agency for so long, I was ready for a change. I was looking for other jobs that didn't really suit me and I was on the brink of giving up when Ryan from progress teachers rang me. He was so positive and easy to talk to. He suggested a role he thought would be prefect for me and wasn't wrong. He has been 100% supportive calls to check in at the end of every week and is so easy to talk to on the phone and I feel supported by him. Progress teachers is an amazing company to be a part of and have staff who care.
